Aqua and Lutri

On Mother's day, my mom was watching something on Animal Planet about a mother Otter raising her pup in a marina. Watching the cute little fluffies reminded me how much I LOVE otters and the reason I first loved Miju.

So, I decided I wanted to draw my otters being otters and not samuri things.... Plus, it was an excuse to practice backgrounds and develop and ability to create complete pieces of art for once! The Dewott on the right is Lutri (the starter I got from Juniper) and the one on the left is Aqua (guess who she's named after!) Since they were both born and raised in Unova, they have never seen a Corsola before, and Corsola has never seen anything like them! Originally it was going to be a shelder, since I like shelder, but then I thought of all the pictures of Mijus and Dewotts eating Shelders and thought better of it.

I made this entirely on the computer from sketch to finish. The lineart for the pokémon was done in Illustrator, everything else was photoshop.
